On October 14, 2019, the Mayor and each Councilmember nominated, and the Council subsequently appointed, candidates to the Task Force on Council Representation. I was recently notified the member who had been appointed upon my nomination, Dr. Harold Westby, would be stepping down from the Task Force due to unforeseen changes in his personal circumstances.

Consistent with the original nomination and appointment process for this Task Force, I have considered candidates to fill Dr. Westby’s position for the remainder of the Task Force’s work program, and I would like to nominate Michael Martin for appointment.

If there are no objections, I would like to ask Council to consider this appointment at the Monday, January 27, 2020, Council meeting.
