The Salary Review Commission is charged with studying the relationship of salaries to the duties of Mayor and City Councilmembers and establishes the salary compensation for each.

Earlier this year, the Charter Review Commission recommended this board be increased from five to seven members. A successful ballot measure made this change effective on January 1, 2020.

The City of Vancouver recently advertised to fill the two newly created positions on the Salary Review Commission. Twelve applications were received and five interviews were scheduled with
qualified applicants.

I am recommending the appointment of Ana Drilea and Esther Schrader to fill the vacant seats.Their appointment would begin immediately and expire February 24, 2024.

If there are no objections, I would like to make this appointment at the Monday, February 24, 2020 Council meeting.
