• A Pearson Airfield Rules and Regulations document is referenced by VMC 10.05.030.

• Recent changes to VMC 10.05 moved many guidance and direction sections for Pearson Airfield out of code and into a more comprehensive Rules and Regulations document.

• The proposed Rules and Regulations document also updates some sections to reflect current and best airfield management practices.

• The proposed Rules and Regulations document was circulated among the current tenants of Pearson Field for feedback.  Edits were made based on feedback received.

Goal 1, Objective 1.2: Ensure our infrastructure, including buildings and utilities, is safe, environmentally responsible and well maintained.

Vancouver Municipal Code section 10.05.030 requires and references a separate “Rules and Regulations” document containing guidance and direction for the management and use of Pearson Airfield.

The previous Vancouver Municipal Code, Title 10.05, contained codification of many operational rules for Pearson Airfield. Recent City Council changes to VMC Title 10.05 moved many of these operational rules out of code and into the proposed “Rules and Regulations” document.  The recently revised code includes a requirement for the “Rules and Regulations” document to be adopted by Council resolution.  This change creates a more streamlined way for the “Rules and Regulations” to be changed in the future when needed.
