Addendum to City Manager Employment Agreement

Present Situation

Council Policy 100-31A, as well as the employment agreement between the City and the City Manager, calls for an annual performance evaluation and compensation adjustment. Council initiated the Manager Evaluation process in July 2021 and completed the evaluation on September 20, 2021. Based on the evaluation, a compensation adjustment of 10% is reflected in the addendum.


Advantage(s)

Approval of this Addendum would fulfill the Council’s obligation to annually evaluate the performance and compensation of the City Manager.


Disadvantage(s)

The cost of the adjustment is $26,644.68 per year.


Budget Impact

There is sufficient capacity to cover the cost of the adjustment in the context of the current approved budget, which is approximately $1.3 billion for the 2021-2022 fiscal biennium.


Prior Council Review

Council held executive sessions regarding the City’s Manager’s performance on July 26, 2021, September 13, 2021 and September 20, 2021.


Action Requested

Approve the Addendum to the City Manager Employment Agreement and authorize the Mayor to execute the same.
