| | | | | | | | Present Situation | The City has negotiated the acquisition of approximately 22.90 acres of property located adjacent to Fruit Valley Road and NW Whitney Road. The City's interest in acquiring this property comes as a result of the Fruit Valley Freight Access and Safety Improvement Project. This project provides a much-needed improved freight connection between Interstate 5 and the Port of Vancouver and reduces the volume of freight traffic on the southern portions of Fruit Valley Road within the Fruit Valley neighborhood, school and park areas.
A Purchase and Sale Agreement (PSA) has been developed between the City and the property owners with a negotiated sale price of $5,020,000. This amount is included in the current 2023-2024 approved budget.
