SUBJECT

Contract Amendment - Lead-Free Brass Fittings & Related Products for C-100892
Key Points

The contract for brass fitting and related products is essential for maintaining the water system. The parts are used to repair and maintain the integrity of the water system so that we can continue to provide safe and reliable water to the community.

Strategic Plan Alignment
Safe and Prepared Community – a safe place to live, work, learn, and play.
Present Situation

Contract ITB #22-17: Lead -Free Brass Fittings & Related Products was awarded to Western Water Works Supply Co Inc. in April 2022 for $300,000 over a period of five years. The previous 5-year contract was approved for $1 million.

These are regularly stocked and utilized parts in the water system and there have been issues with supply and demand on these brass fittings. Because of that, Operations Warehouse staff have been ordering replacement parts early to help keep inventory at acceptable levels.

To maintain acceptable levels of service, an increase of $500,000 is requested to be added to the remainder of this contract. With this it is anticipated to provide sufficient appropriation for the remaining 3 years of the contract.

Advantage(s)
  1. Keep supplies stocked to ensure staff’s ability to maintain and repair the water system as needed in a timely manner.
  2.  Supply safe and reliable water to the community for consumption and fire protection.

Disadvantage(s)
None
Budget Impact

Sufficient appropriation is available in the adopted 2024 budget.
